“Picture worth thousand words.”

I am completely agrees with that term above.

And in a website or blog, a picture also has so many useful functions. Here I don’t want to talk about Photoblog or some kind of a portfolio website. But this time I would like to talk about the function of an image in a website/blog content which it usually full with text of content.

So based on my experience in internet, I found couple things why we should add a picture at website/blog content.

1. Lively your site/blog up. What do you feel when you’re on a site which contains with text only on the whole page? I bet you’re will be bored and you’re eyes immediately got so tired to read the whole text. Then this is why an image used for. To lively up your site up and to help illustrate what your content is all about. By adding an image your web will become more colorful and more alive.

2. As a SEO tool. I know SEO will always related about content. But there is also an opportunity to make your site/blog get higher rank in SERP through an image. Since Google provides Image Search service, there’s a chance to optimize our site/blog to get better result in SERP through an image. By creating a right image’s filename and adding ALT and TITLE tags at your image will help your site/blog placed at better position on SERP. I’ll post later about how to make SEO for image.
