Software protection is need of the day. It is estimated that about 30% revenue is lost due to piracy but these figures fail to explain the fact that piracy also increases legal sales. Director of a software company told me they learn about some companies using their pirated software but they did not took any action. The director was not surprised when he received order from the same company next year. Online activation services provide software developers access to a centralized license server on the Internet, preventing software piracy by means of online software activation. Software activation is the process of obtaining a license for your software so that it becomes active and ready to use on your computer. Users dislike software activation because it is a form of "Call-back" and it will be additional head-ache if you do not have internet connection on the computer on which you want software to be installed.
6. Separate Trial and Download
Many developers release different trial version and full versions. This requires users to uninstall trial and reinstall full version.
7. Dongle Locking
Dongle locking is another form of hardware locking. The software will require the use of an external piece of hardware (either connected to the parallel port or USB port) to "activate" the software. This is very-popular among developers because it is easy to incorporate and easy to deliver. Users always dislike anything extra.
8. USB Drive Lock
USB drives also has unique manufacturer identification numbers like hard discs. Some companies are using USB pen drives as locks. The benefit is that you can continue to use USB drive for data storage. Additionally entire software can be provided in the pen drive with data in it. Imagine taking account ledgers or custom designs (like interior design projects, land escaping project etc.) with you when meeting a customer and updating details their it self. Uston appears on the scene in 1977 with the publication of The Big Player, co-authored with Roger Rapaport. In this book, Uston exposed the secrets of Al Francesco's big player teams. The book caused a quarrel between Al and Ken that lasted for years, as Al felt Ken had betrayed his trust as well as his teammates.

But there is no denying that the book caused an upheaval in the world of card counting, changing the ways that professionals looked at the game and attacked it. Three of the most successful international blackjack teams - the Tommy Hyland team, the MIT team, and the Czech team - all were founded in 1978, the year after Uston's book was published.

Al and Ken later patched up their relationship and Uston went on to start many blackjack teams of his own. He was a personality on a grand scale, who legally challenged the casino industry in the courts of both New Jersey and Nevada. His playing career spanned two decades of play at the highest levels, and included card counting, BP teams, hole card techniques, and concealed computer play.

Ken is also the author of Two Books on Blackjack (1979), Million Dollar Blackjack (1981), and Ken Uston on Blackjack (1986).
Uston died in 1987 at the age of fifty-two.

“Picture worth thousand words.”

I am completely agrees with that term above.

And in a website or blog, a picture also has so many useful functions. Here I don’t want to talk about Photoblog or some kind of a portfolio website. But this time I would like to talk about the function of an image in a website/blog content which it usually full with text of content.

So based on my experience in internet, I found couple things why we should add a picture at website/blog content.

1. Lively your site/blog up. What do you feel when you’re on a site which contains with text only on the whole page? I bet you’re will be bored and you’re eyes immediately got so tired to read the whole text. Then this is why an image used for. To lively up your site up and to help illustrate what your content is all about. By adding an image your web will become more colorful and more alive.

2. As a SEO tool. I know SEO will always related about content. But there is also an opportunity to make your site/blog get higher rank in SERP through an image. Since Google provides Image Search service, there’s a chance to optimize our site/blog to get better result in SERP through an image. By creating a right image’s filename and adding ALT and TITLE tags at your image will help your site/blog placed at better position on SERP. I’ll post later about how to make SEO for image.
